My work is based in abstract construction with an interest in materiality and process.
I work with everyday materials such as cardboard, wood, paper, paint, nails, glue, wax, bubblewrap, cloth, staples, screws, hinges etc.

I am interested in material dross and how it becomes art, how base matter in a simple form can be made to matter.
I am interested in negligible objects, "sensuous individuation", materials that are banal, ephemeral, absurd, patchy, worthless.
I am interested in the "minor" - the use of simple materials, handmade structures - not as a marginal concern but as an intensive form, which disrupts the usual concepts of beauty, form and the art object.

What remains is an implacable material presence resistant to interpretation.
